Chief Denise Nelson

Greetings! I am Chief Denise Nelson, a proud native of Brooklyn, New York. My upbringing was split between the bustling streets of New York City and the vibrant community of Dayton, Ohio.

In 1997, I embarked on my professional journey, starting my career in Property Management. It was during this time that I had the privilege of closely collaborating with the esteemed Wayne Sever, honing my skills and expanding my knowledge in the field.

Fast forward to 2021, and I am thrilled to announce the exciting venture I embarked upon alongside his son Michael. Together, we decided to collaborate on Highland Protection LLC, a company that is dedicated to providing top-notch security solutions to our valued clients.

While my professional life keeps me busy, my heart belongs to my beautiful family of four girls and four boys, making every day an adventure filled with love and laughter.

Throughout my career, I have developed a wide range of skills, including problem resolution, event management, and business administration. My expertise lies in implementing effective security measures, providing comprehensive training, educational programs, and conducting thorough investigations to ensure the safety and well-being of our clients.

What sets me apart is my unwavering commitment to maintaining exceptional customer service and operational efficiency. I firmly believe that going above and beyond for our clients is not just a duty but a privilege.

Chief Michael Sever

Born in Fallon, Nevada to Military Parents (Navy & Air Force) and raised in Circleville, Ohio. Although he is young, he boasts nearly ten years of experience in Security, having begun his career immediately after graduating from Logan Elm High School in 2015. Chief Sever devotes much of his free time to holding training sessions with officers, ensuring they are well-trained and ready for the uncertainties they may face in the field. Michael's commitment to the safety of others is best exemplified by his receipt of a Citizen's Distinguished Service Award from the Columbus Division of Fire in 2019, after saving the life of a citizen while working a post.

Chief Sever is a family-oriented man, marrying his High School Sweetheart, Sarae, in 2021, with whom he has two beautiful daughters. He prides himself on a family-first mentality, which he translates to Highland, treating all officers with the same level of love and respect he would give his own family.
